This image leads one astray in possibly understanding the concept of confidence. Someone who demonstrates true self-worth is not a bully but also can channel kindness and compassion as well.That is the sign of true mental health. I do so every day before I go to bed for about 10 minutes. It took me a while to get used to it as I didnt find it easy to learn. However, once I got the hang of it, it completely blew me away. Not only do I fall asleep much easier, but I generally sleep better and feel better the next day. To be fair, I have had quite some issues in the past with sleep and have been adding new things to finally get rid of the problem. In my honest opinion, the combination of meditation and my new Talalay latex mattress is absolutely amazing. I have never slept better and can really recommend this to anyone. Sometimes the juniors who join later do better than me. But glad I got a new interesting hobby that helps me on catching balance, thanks to a new ice skating rink that is now not so far from home. Before I also have paused workout for so long, maybe due to overwork inconsistent routine pattern that cause adrenal fatigue and traumatic muscle, Ive been contemplating unfitness, body weight and even depression issues since then. I am now glad ice skating becomes what I am interested in and hope it will make another kick start to get body reenergized so I can be more confident to rejoin gym classes and no longer traumatized as before.

Monopoly only shows who is the most manipulative…not the same as intelligence, lol. It’s ok to like Monopoly, just be realistic in what it’s about. It was also originally created not to teach capitalism, but to discredit it. That’s why it really doesn’t work, and is such an imbalanced game. Try some resource management games if you want that kind of strategy.

You don’t go from putting skates on to a game in 60sec. Lots of people never see scrimmage time for 6 months or even a year if they’re brand new to skating. In actuality the benefits of practice are likely higher since they average around 2 hours and include activities such as endurance training.

In no way can you say derby is like team boxing on skates. You don’t punch people and your objective isn’t to be combative. There is a big difference between combative sports (boxing, MMA) and collision/impact sports (derby, hockey, etc).

I enjoy any exposure for the sport, but this is not written well and could have used better input from skaters.

There is also a small grammatical error at the beginning. When referring to roller derby, you don’t place “a” in front.

As a Community Tai Chi Instructor, I find this occurring in many articles about Tai Chi and even on some websites, especially those who wish to promote Tai Chi to seniors, as a fall prevention exercise. Tai Chi is an excellent, safe, low impact exercise for people of all ages, even for people with chronic conditions and seniors. If practiced regularly, Tai Chi will improve balance and can lower the rate of falls by 50%. Seniors often ask me, “Do I need to bring a yoga mat?” “Are we doing to get down on the floor because I can’t.” “How long are we holding the poses.” “I can’t stand on one leg.” In Tai Chi, we don’t use a yoga mats. We don’t get down on the floor nor do we hold static poses.

Tai Chi is a sequence of forms, performed with a relaxed upright body alignment, with gentle weight-shifting, along with coordinated arm movement performed in a gentle, slow, mindful, circular, continuous, and, flowing manner. Tai Chi can be performed seated in a chair, chair assisted, standing and stepping. For people who are interested in Tai Chi, check with your community centers, parks & senior centers. Always start with a beginners class to learn the basics first before jumping into a continuing class. I find that new participants are overwhelmed when they jump into a continuing class and don’t return. Tai Chi is not easy to learn nor is it hard to learn. It does require time & practice. If you have a chronic condition such as arthritis… always check with your doctor first before starting a new fitness program. I practice Tai Chi to help manage my chronic pain. Always move within your personal comfort zone and “modify” the forms according to your physical limitations. Enjoy!

It’s clear to me from info gleaned elsewhere that countries such as Japan will be high on this list, but it needs to be borne from statistics for longevity and bodily health through life to note those countries with the least incidence of chronic illnesses throughout life for example and in my research I would be looking for measurements of body fat ratio, BMI, blood analyses et al and to cross reference with eating and lifestyle statistics. From this we can reset the extremely wide BMI parameters, calorie consumption levels, examine the nutritional aspect of most consumed foodstuffs and a host of other aspects on health which in the UK (among other countries) can enable us to build a new health profile for the nation and effect regulations in the food industry which are long overdue. Otherwise, what purpose is there in just knowing this or that country is the most healthy if we are to continue denying in the lifestyle we practice?

Skateboarding at a skate-park with vertical movement like pumping around a bowl, or end to end on a ramp, is superb for lymph fluid activation, prolly better than a rebounder min tramp.

Cycling has done very little for me, health-wise. Its too easy so takes many hours to get fit, and core muscles are unused, and no lymph fluid activation. Mentally you can turn off on a bike and zone out.

Walking would have better, but skating for fitness is very well balanced in many respects, core strength especially and reactions and mental exercise, even though ones posture is unbalanced by preferred stance.

I’ve been researching skateboarding benefits, and they are very underrated. The up and down of a skate-park are a quantum leap of lymph fluid benefits compared to flat-ground skating.

I’m about to re-engage with skating again at 53 yrs old.
